We ended 2009 with a feast! On the 30 we went to see our friends the Kerchers up in Austin for a Rib Fest. Karl makes the absolute most delicious cherry cola ribs in the world and accompanies the ribs with Dirty Noodles- isn't that just the best name! They planned to have 12-15 people there so we arrived two hours early so we could have time to visit. When we walked in the first thing I saw was at least 18 racks of ribs ready to be glazed with a little bit of heaven. About 30 minutes after we arrived a package containing fresh Alaskan King Crab Legs also arrived. Every year the Kerchers order in Fresh Crab from Alaska, overnighted, to celebrate the holidays. This is a meal I have only heard about for the past 6 years, but since we wouldn't be up for New Years Eve Karl whipped up a generous batch for Kev and I to hold us over till Rib Fest began. It was a binging bliss, we feasted on these ginormous crab legs and I still managed to down 5 ribs and some noodles and ended the night with some raspberry bread pudding with delicious cream sauce. Ooohh It was divine!!!
As for our actual New Years we had a great time, we invited some friends over and had a smorgasbord of snacks and just hung out. It was so great to be around friends and enjoy the evening, we did the river walk and dinner last year and it was sooo crowded, I don't like that.
I am super excited for this next year! One thing I plan to do is create a food blog of recipes I love and recipes I create, since my Get Fit Blog only lasted about 2 months last year before I gave up and got pregnant I may rename and start posting healthy recipes on there again, who knows. I am super excited to transition to being a stay at home mom and more of a homemaker.
Also as a random addition to this post, I got some pictures of Kevin's fishing trip with the young men. They went down to Port Aransas earlier this month and fished a little off the Pier... Look at what they caught...

I can't believe your friends fly king crab in from Alaska...that is pretty intense. I am glad you got to enjoy some though. That sting ray is nastifying. Good luck with enduring to the end with your pregnancy. The last few weeks can be brutal. Are you already done with work? Or will you keep working for a few more weeks?
