Pumpkin Bread Pudding Brulee

Two of my most favorite desserts are bread pudding and crem brulee. Since this month pumpkin has been making everything better I have been searching for recipes for pumpkin brulee and pumpkin bread pudding. Pumpkin brulee isn't looking too promising since Crem Brulee is most delicious because of the creamy smooth texture with the crunchy sugar top, reviews all say the pumpkin texture takes away from the deliciousness. However I found this recipe for Bread pudding and combined it with another recipe to make it Pumpkin Bread Pudding Brulee

PUMPKIN BREAD PUDDING BRULEE:
2 Cups 1/2 & 1/2
1 Cup 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
1 15oz Can Pumpkin
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp Pumpkin Spice
1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp Vanilla
Cubed Bread- I used 6 croissants and 6 butter kaisers
Make the custard and pour over the bread, mixture should be very soggy but not soupy so add more bread if needed. This says to bake at 350 for 40 minutes in a 9x13. I put mine in greased muffin tins and it baked for about 30 minutes
After baking I removed from the muffin tin and placed in a 9x13 pan. I brushed each top with cream and covered in brown sugar. I put them under the broiler just until the sugar was beginning to burn.
I was pretty happy with the turn out, not as pumpkiny as I had hoped but I didn't have enough pumpkin spice. I still may play with this recipe- but overall it was tasty and has a nice crunchy top that is different.

Also this week I tried out the Krusteaz Pumpkin Bread that I got from Costco, I had heard it wasn't extra pumpkiny so I added 1/2 cup pumpkin puree, I think it helped but still was no Great Harvest, However topped with the pumpkin cream that I used on waffles it was still quite yummy. Just more of a spice bread than a pumpkin bread, but a delicious quick bread none the less :) This weekend was my husbands friends wedding. Our friend Scooter came down and the two were Groomsmen. Aren't they so handsome!

Looks yummy Linds. Couldn't you get the Great Harvest pumpkin bread recipe? You are tight with the Owens right? I have been trying to recreate it, but haven't felt like it tasted exactly the same as I remember it from working there.

Hi Lindsey! I saw a blog this morning and totally thought of you :) It is a fun pumpkin pancake http://www.notmartha.org/archives/2009/10/26/orange-pumpkin-pancakes-with-black-cinnamon-syrup-and-spiders/ I can tell we read some of the same blogs (like bakerella) so you might have run across this already. I totally plan on making these for Halloween morning!
