Baking

This week we had a baby shower for my friend. I made cupcakes. As you know, I love cupcakes and I was excited to make some cute girly cupcakes! They turned out delicious, I will put the recipes on my food blog.


Then my friends were having a birthday party for their two little girls turning 3 and I told them I would make them some cakes. I wanted to try something new since I don't often have an excuse to make cakes. I decided to try a miniature topsy turvy cake.

It was kind of hard but so fun. I didn't want to try to color the fondant in lots of shades of pink so I used starbursts and it worked great so if you ever want to make like a dozen little flowers for a batch of cupcakes just pick up some starbursts so you don't have to make fondant!
I often don't bake because I don't want to make a big mess, or I don't want to get stuck with a ton of junk that only I am going to eat, but the mess really wasn't a big deal and I was happy for the excuse to bake fun things!!
