The biggest event of the trip was when Cooper took five steps towards me on Friday morning. The first week we were gone he started to push himself up and stand on his own in the middle of the room, he had never done that before. Then he started to take a step or two here and there. I debated whether or not I should gently push him down and discourage the walking until we got back. I really felt bad for Kevin to miss it. I didn't push him down, but he stopped trying, for about a week there were no steps and barely any standing. Then Friday morning he pushed himself up and started walking to me, he took five steps! I was so excited and even more excited that night after we got him pumped up on Pinkberry he took eight steps and I was able to get it on video to send to Kev! He isn't "walking" but he is getting there and it is so fun, right now he takes as many steps as he can until he tips forward with excitement!
So now at 13 months here are some of the things I am loving about this little stud. He has the best smile and has mastered the toothy cheeser and it makes me happy. He loves music, I turn on the music on my phone and he holds it right up to his ear and he just bobs and sways and bounces; my sister in law says he has an internal soundtrack because often when there is no music he is boppin away! He is pointing to everything and makes little squeaks and grunts that end in question marks until he can hold or touch what he is pointing to. Sometimes when I clap he says Yay! and he will sometimes say or repeat Da Da or la la la and every so often Ma Ma.
I feel like he learns new things everyday, and he gets cuter and funnier day by day as well! Life is good!
