Rochester: Week Two

Here is Cooper trying to escape from being close to statues, they freak him out, its pretty funny!
Week two here has been pretty fun! We are loving the parks, but it can be exhausting following a little kid around the park! But still I am always happy to be outside in such nice weather and such green surroundings. I feel like I have been in such a drought that when I see anything green or wet I fall in love and want to take pictures of it, and its everywhere! So while I can't deny that it is gorgeous here, parts of it remind me a little of Texas Hill Country in the spring. we have enjoyed several drives looking at the homes and scenery.
Hotel living isn't too bad, before I was determined to learn to cook in a hotel room. I thought I'd learn to hard boil eggs in the coffee maker, but the coffee maker is very confusing, it looks like an electric can opener. I brought my George Foreman but learned that cooking meats in a hotel room gets too smokey, thankfully no alarms went off but I was super scared. So now we eat cereal, sandwiches-which I can grill, microwave meals from Trader Joes, protein shakes, or we mostly eat out. Thankfully soup weather is around the corner.

For Labor Day we went to a little Zoo and had a picnic. The weather was perfect, the Zoo was cute and Cooper got to feed the goats and cows and he loved it! This little boy loves to moo at most animals it is pretty cute.

We went to Minneapolis over the weekend as well and we weren't quite sure what to do. We discovered this cool park around a lake and rented a fun bike to ride around. It was about 3 1/2 mile around the lake and it was such a fun ride, Cooper was in heaven, especially when I let him sit on my lap and steer the fake wheel. Kev was an awesome pedaller as well.

We hit up Mall of America which had an impressive Lego display and we explored the amusement park and some stores. I was excited they had an H&M and there is no sales tax on clothes, but still I was good and bought just one shirt. The mall was super duper crowded so we split before we saw it all but my dad comes to town next week, maybe I will sneak by before I get him from the airport :)

Overall things are going well. Kevin is loving the program here and will have a few interviews this week. Coop and I have fun, but I hate to admit we hang out in the room a little more than he may like but this week I am hoping to get out more! It is fun to spend so much time with just Cooper, I feel like he does new things everyday. He is saying more words and is getting to be so helpful when I tell him to do something, especially if it involves throwing things away, he loves putting things in the garbage can!
We miss our friends back home and we hope our house doesn't burn down but we are also having a great time here!

Okay first, I LOOOOOVE YOUR HAIR! You look great. Second, I'm excited for interview season to start! Third, kudos for hotel living. Will Cooper nap? Do you just nap at the same time?
