Duck, Duck, Goose!

I have been so excited to take Cooper to feed the ducks. In San Antonio not only is it too hot to go feed the ducks, I don't even know where to go, I don't think I have seen ducks in San Antonio. So for a few weeks I have been so excited to take Cooper to feed the ducks. I was excited to see him chase them and laugh and I hoped he would quack at them.
Well they have lots of ducks here, but where there are ducks there are three times as many geese. I knew geese could be more aggressive and mean but I thought we'd be okay and take our chances. It wasn't at all like I had hoped it would be!
When we first got to the park there were a ton of geese sitting near the parking lot. We got out some bread and threw it to them and they just sat there, they weren't hungry at all! Then we noticed tons of bread, chips, popcorn and to-go containers filled with leftovers all over the grass, apparently feeding the geese is a popular activity in this small town. We went and ate our lunch and played on the playground. Then I saw a dover of ducks near the lake and I took Cooper to go feed them. They were hungry and for the first minute Cooper was having so much fun, but when the gaggle of geese saw the ducks eating they came in and took over. It wasn't too bad, Cooper and I were throwing the bread and the geese were honking and eating. But then the geese grew impatient, and it takes Cooper a little bit of time to decide where to throw the bread. A goose came right up and snatched the bread from Coopers hand! It totally scared him but he calmed down and fed some more, but then it happened again! And suddenly geese were everywhere, and they began hissing at us! I know its probably wrong to kick a goose, but I wanted to, and had I not been wearing flip flops I may have. Anyways, we quickly threw out the bread and got out of there and I don't think we will be back.
I was disappointed that it wasn't the charming experience I had hoped for, and there was no time to get a good picture because I was trying to keep the geese away from Cooper's fingers, but in the end Cooper did chase a goose and that was cute.
