We learned the hard way that Apple will not fix a cracked Ipad screen. They will however replace the entire Ipad for $260. I had had this expensive gadget for only ten months before I, in my clumsy tired mommy state, dropped it. Twice. So instead of paying an extra $50 in the screen protection warranty that would only ensure the screens safety for another year, we decided to invest in a bulky yet high quality Otter Box indestructible Ipad case. It arrived yesterday and in the excitement of putting it together we didn't notice Maggie wiggle and roll herself off the couch. We may need to invest in an Otter Box case for her.
Last night I sat with Maggie on the floor. She held tightly to my index fingers as she balanced herself on her wobbly little legs, her head bobbed back and forth and she grinned, cooed and drooled all over, it was awesome. I sat there feeling so blessed but I also felt a little sad and guilty. Maggie is getting so big so fast. I remember when Cooper was a little baby I wanted to hold him and stare at him all the time. We took picture after picture of every new little thing he did and I documented everything. I missed him if I went too long without holding him. I knew things would be different with Maggie because I would not be able to give her all my attention, but I am embarrassed to say that Cooper has not been the biggest distraction. I feel like I didn't enjoy her to the fullest because I was so wrapped up in watching Prison Break or How I Met Your Mother season after season. Or I was busy looking at pinterest or facebook during those late night feedings, so instead of enjoying those milk drunken sleepy smiles, my eyes stung from the glow of the Ipad screen. I decided last night that I need to unplug some. I don't need to check ten times a day to see if someone has updated their facebook status, or check out pinterest to see if there are any new pins on how to be a craftier and more interactive mom. I need to put the Internet away and enjoy my kids. I hope to blog and journal more about the fun things they are doing.
So right now as Maggie is sleeping and Cooper is dancing around with the door stop stick as he imitates the Boys Are Back dance from High School Musical 3, I want to recommit to be a better mom and write down some of my favorite moments from the past few months.
Coopers bedtime routine cracks me up. He has gotten to be very specific about what is needed to help him fall asleep. He likes to have Kevin read to him, I think he would like him to read to him all night but he usually reads 2-3 books. Right now it seems like his favorites are "pig", The Three Little pigs, "frog", a little critter book called My Mother and Me, it has a frog on every page, "eggs", Green Eggs and Ham, "Puppy", Muddy Paws, "Owl Beer" aka Elmo Bear, its a Elmo search book. He is also enjoying the pictures from the children's Book of Mormon reader. Before he gets into bed he likes to line up several cars and trains at the foot of the bed. Mcqueen, Mater and McMissile all have to be there and then he will choose some favorites of the day to join along. One night he was looking for something and he kept yelling Eesa! Eesa! It was so cute because he cups his hands around his mouth and calls for Eesa waiting for Eesa to come out of hiding for him. It took weeks for us to figure out what Eesa was, it turns out Eesa is Finn McMissle, Eesa=Missile. We also discovered that Supere is Super, the name of the super hero action figure he found. Anyways after his favorite cars, trains, supers, and bugs are lined up and he has his cup and blankies, he will lay in bed and turn on every singing animal he has along with the fish noise machine. It is not often that he goes right to sleep. He calls at the door for us to bring him one more thing several times before he really goes to sleep. Its cute and he makes it hard to say no.
Each Morning he wakes up and calls for me. When I get into the room he hands me all of his cars and toys to me one by one, naming each one as he hands it over, he then hands me his cup and blankie and runs out saying I want a show, a show.
Today he can't decide between High School Musical and Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss so he keeps trading the DVDs back and forth all by himself. It is crazy the things he picks up from shows. It sure makes me realize how careful we need to be with what he can watch, but for now it seems harmless. He likes Blues Clues and when ever he sees a paw print in a book or another show he shouts out Boos Coos and does the little hand action. Its pretty funny.
Well I am going to go enjoy the day with my kids, and I am excited!

Love this Linds and I completely agree!! The time goes by too quickly and we are missing the sweet things in life! Cooper is a silly little monster--love that he has his little routine! Oh, and otterbox cases are great! We went with a gumdrop case and couldn't have survived without it. It is very kid friendly (since my kids are on my iPad more than me).
I completely agree! I have a tendency to feel stressed when I have unread blogs in my Google Reader, but lots of days I have to step back and ask myself "who cares?" The blogs I read are for fun and aren't a duty or assignment, so I've really been trying to not spend so much time with them. I also find tons of cool stuff to, but then I don't have time to actually do it because I'm spending so much time online. Crazy right?
