This week we said goodbye to Kate and Jed. We sure are going to miss them! I have loved having my sister living so near. Kate and I have always been very close. She came and visited soon after Cooper was born and just as she got here I got Strep Throat. Kate got up with Cooper in the mornings so I could sleep in and she took care of him while I sat in the Urgent Care all day. Two years ago we tried to convince Kate to come live with us so she could marry our good friend Jed,(Kev and I knew they would be perfect together). It took a few months but Kate eventually moved down to have a change of pace. I loved having Kate live with us. I loved that Cooper was able to play with his aunt. We loved when Kate and Jed started dating and they both were over at our house a lot. A year ago when they got married we saw them less but we still tried to get together every other week at least. Cooper loves them. He lights up when they come over. Aside from Mom and Dad, Kate was the next person whose name Cooper learned. Jed's name came a little later, and it started out as Dead, but now when we talk about them Cooper will cry out, My Kate My Kate, and My Jed My Jed!! It has been so fun seeing them interact with Cooper and Maggie, and some day they will be wonderfully fun parents.
This week they packed up their apartment and in a month they will be moving to Germany for the next 3 years. We went out to dinner at Papasito's for their Wednesday half priced fajitas. Maggie fell asleep in Jed's arms while we waited to be seated and Kate held her through out dinner while Cooper shot straw wrapper rockets and paper wads at Jed. It was so fun! Just before they headed out of town we met up for lunch and I got a great video of Cooper and Jed playing cars, Cooper was giggling and yelling I got you I got you, I don't know how to upload it, but it is cute and I am sure we will watch it many many times so that Cooper will remember his fun Aunt and Uncle. Thankfully it isn't goodbye yet, we will see them in Utah in 3 weeks! I am just glad for the past year and a half that we were able to have them here!
