UtahTrip

We had a fantastic time in Utah, but it is nice to be home with Kev!! My brother Spencer came home from his mission on November 7. He is fun to have around! Kevin found out that he had Monday the 12 off for Veterans day and so on Saturday the 10 after he finished a test we looked at the cost of tickets and he started trying to get a hold of few guys on his team to get permission to leave. I was excited but we weren't sure if he could make it work. At about 3:30 he got permission to go so he bought a ticket, and headed to the airport for a 5:20 flight. He was supposed to arrive at 9:45 but there was a terrible snow storm. Driving to the airport was pretty scary! I was driving with my sister in law Amy in the car. She was in Utah for a job interview and I think the snow almost scared her completely away from a fantastic job! We got to the airport and found out the flight had been delayed until 11. So we walked around with 2 sleepy grumpy kids for almost two hours. At 11:30 Kev's plane had still not arrived and I was told that no planes were landing and his plane had been diverted to Las Vegas with no plans to come back! I was so sad!! We loaded up the kids and started our drive home. We got a hold of Kevin and he said they were re-fueling and heading back to Utah so we went home to Provo, dropped off the kids and went back to the airport. We made it home safely, with Kevin, at 3:00 am, but I was just so happy he had made it, even if it was just for 38 hours! He was able to come to Spencer's homecoming and see a few friends as well. It was nice to have some snow in Utah before we left. On Saturday we all went sledding at my Grandpa's. I loved sledding as a kid and its still so fun as an adult and its even more fun to see our kids having fun sledding, doing trains, building jumps, trying to sled into the river and having snowball fights!

What a crazy trip back and forth to the airport! Glad to hear that Kevin made it to you safely and what a fun last minute surprise!
