Week 3 in Rochester

Here we are at the banks of the Mississippi

I can't believe we have just one week left here! Time has flown by and we have actually loved it here. Cooper and I went with a friend from church to pick fresh raspberries, it was so fun and I got three overflowing pints of delicious berries for only $4.50! We mixed them in ice cream and it was heavenly. Last weekend we had a few outings, we went to Winona to see the Mississippi River. When I looked online there were some fun restaurants, parks and some paddle boat rentals, when we got there I realized I must have been looking at a different river city because Winona was a flop and all along the river was industrial stuff. There were some cool old buildings and it was a pretty drive to get there but once there it was two thumbs down.
The next day we went to Harmony to experience the Niagra Caves. There was supposedly a waterfall in the cave that reminded the men who discovered the cave of Niagra Falls so that's how they named the cave. I don't think they had ever seen Niagra Falls, or the waterfall has reduced significantly because it was tiny. But the cave was actually really cool. I would have taken some rad pictures but I can't for the life of me get a clear picture from my fancy camera unless it is a brilliantly bright day outside and Cooper stands perfectly still. Maybe one day I will read the manual and learn.
My dad came to Minneapolis for a meeting and I got to hang out with him Monday night and Tuesday morning, it was so fun! He took us to a delicious restaurant and I indulged on Lobster Mac, it was fantastic. I have gained like ten pounds here.
We are having a great time, Cooper loves being outside and playing. At the parks he could sit in a swing while I push him for over an hour. It is lots of fun for me :)
There are some things that have been new to me. At the restaurants there are hooks at each of the booths, I commented to Kevin how nice that was so you can hang your purse or your to go bag. He laughed because he had to explain that the hooks were for big winter coats. At church half of the long hallway was dedicated to the longest coat rack I have ever seen. I have never worn a coat to church unless it was part of my outfit. Crazy stuff going on up here!
