Mags Bags

Maggie was blessed on May 13, 2012. It was Mother's Day and for me it was one of the best days of the year! We were able to be in Utah with most of our families and many close friends there. We all gathered in my parents living room and Maggie was looking gorgeous in the dress that her cousin Ryann was blessed in. During the blessing my dad told me that Maggie was smiling with bright and alert eyes. She was focused on Kevin and her expressions were changing as Kevin blessed her with many wonderful things that our Heavenly Father has in store for her. I am so grateful for the power of the Priesthood and the opportunity that Kevin has to bless our children and our family.
So Many of our good friends and family were there, it was so great to all be together it made me quite emotional! I thought it was cool because Jed was in San Antonio for the blessing of Cooper and at that time he was just a friend and had never met Kate. Now here at Maggie's blessing Jed was there as our brother in law and he and Kate are married and they left for Germany two days after the blessing.
After the blessing we had a little brunch, I was excited to try out a recipe from pinterest for easy cinnamon rolls. Collynn and I had a little cinnamon roll bake off. A few weeks later when I was debating to make cinnamon rolls for Kevin's graduation brunch Kevin told me I definitely should because he thought they were so delicious he ate two, and he doesn't eat many sweets. When I told him I was suprised he loved them so much I realized he was taliking about Collynns rolls and not mine! I guess she won the bake off! But mine were so easy! Melt 1\2 stick of butter in a glass pie plate and stir in 1/4 cup brown sugar. Roll our one package of Crescent Rolls and pinch the seams together. Spread 1/2 stick of butter and sprinkle 1/4 cup of cinnamon sugar all over. Roll up and slice into eight pieces and bake as directed.
Maggie had her 4 month check up on Friday. She is so fun and smiley, as soon as the doctor walked in she smiled and flirted and was so cute! She is 24 inches which is right at the 50% but she weighed in at a whopping 15 1/2, the 80%, the doctor said I should start a little early on solids and put her on a bit of a diet! She is a strong little gal and can roll over in both directions. She is loving the bouncer and though she doesn't jump a lot yet, she still loves to sit and spin the rattles. She is a mellow little girl and doesn't cry very often unless she is hungry or super tired or in the car without people looking at her. She didn't even cry after her 1st shot the other day, and after the 2nd she only cried for a few seconds. I was so proud of her! She is growing up so fast and we are loving all the fun stages of baby Mags!

She is such a cutie. I am glad you were able to bless her in Utah with all your family and lots of friends there, and on Mother's day, how perfect.
